Sorry for another wait guys! I didn’t have wifi this summer, hence no blog updates.
To get things started I moved into the on-campus apartments this Friday. One of my roommates, Rachel, is also all moved in. Now we are waiting on Linnea and Dana to move, can’t wait!! 😀
Today was the first day of SOC(Student Orientation Counselor, mentioned in past blog), training. The day was filled with laughter, awkwardness, new friendships, and Dairy Queen. I can’t wait to see what the rest of training and Welcome Week will have in store for all of us. Tomorrow we are heading out to go camping, hopefully we have enough tents haha! Adventure is waiting for us! Good luck to all the groups on planning their events for the week! I can’t wait to start practicing for Campus Capers! Campus Capers is our version of SNL.
On another note, I had been working at Holiday Inn/Rudy’s Redeye Grill this summer with my sister, Julia, in Alex. We set-up courtyards and the barn for meetings, a lot of weddings, graduation parties, etc. We then would served the groups’ food, drinks, etc. I used to do this at my old job during my senior year of high-school. I’m glad to be done lifting the trays of heavy food! Thank goodness my employees made it a fun place to work. Sadly I didn’t get tons of hours and being my stupid self I didn’t get a second job in time.
Since I didn’t work as much as I attended to I did get to spend a lot of time on different lakes. If you are ever in Alexandria I recommend swimming on Maple Lake, otherwise Lake Latoka is always a good choice. You’ll seriously find a lake around every corner!
My mom returned to the states on August 9th! She’ll be staying for the year, which will be awesome!
Also, I am still debating about getting a tattoo. I know what I want it to say, but I don’t know where it should be located and how it should be designed to look. Being indecisive doesn’t help my case.
Well, that is all I have for you all now!
Talk soon! Xxx
